Champagnes & Sparkling Wines for Summer
by Meena Sethi
Hot summer - cold champagne, a perfect match. Don't wait till the holidays or a special occasion to open a bottle of bubbly. You can enjoy it with a meal or just by itself.
We have put together a list of a few Champagnes and Sparkling wines — some of them at great prices and a few new favorites.
Recommendations from our team at Kendall FineWineSpirits
Champagnes & Sparkling wines are picked at random and no particular order of preference.
Louis Roederer Cristal 1999
If you have never tried it and want to splurge — go ahead this is the time. Firm, forceful yet elegant.
Krug Vintage1990
An aristocrat. Big and intense. Very harmonious from start to finish.
Perrier Jouet Fleur de Champagne 1999 with two glasses
A great gift giving item. The bottle and the glasses are hand painted.
Veuve Clicquot Brut NV Yellow Label
Give me a person who doesn't like this one. A full-bodied well rounded champagne. The vote is unanimous. We all love it.
Taittinger Cuvee Prestige Brut
Well-balanced, beautifully integrated with a long finish.
Ruinart Blanc de Blanc NV
Very appealing now. It's one of our new favorites.
Laurent Perrier Cuvee Rose Brut
One of the best Roses we have tasted. We had it with Japanese food — Loved it.
Moet & Chandon Nectar
Sweet but not overbearing. Drink it with dessert or spicy food.
Schramsberg Blanc de Noir
One of our customer's favorite and believe us, she has tried a lot of them. However she couldn't get over the fact it's from California. Yes California makes some great bubbly too.
Bella Vista Cuvee Brut
Parker calls it the Dom Perignon of Italy. A very elegant, well made sparkling wine.
Gloria Ferrer Brut
Another great sparkling wine from California. Wine Spectator recently gave it 90 points and look at the cost. Great Buy!!
Mumm Napa Blanc de Noir
Another great buy from California. We love it.
